I Don't Do Dirt
The lyrics of I Don't Do Dirt were written by our good mate, the late Stuart Ratcliffe in the late 90s. He was always moved by the colonisation of Australia and the displacement of our First Peoples. These lyrics were passed onto us at his funeral in January 2026, so we jammed on a tune that night and brought his song to life. Not sure why we channelled Louie Armstrong, but it somehow works. I Can Make You Happy
A song written from an encounter with an angry spirit. An entity that wanted to wreak havoc on any intruders. Plenty of swear words and we did our best to pacify through raising the vibrations and writing a song about understanding depression and rage and taking it to a happier place.
Moving On
A song born out of an investigation where we helped spirit move on. A female form lingering in a cemetery of all places. This song seems to have the right vibrations to help!
Steampunk Festival 2025 - The gig!
We're excited to share highlights from our recent gig at the Dimboola festival on April 12, 2025. As the only band out there writing songs inspired by ghosts, we fit right in with the steampunk theme.
Punk Monk (jazz / blues version)
Our Punk Monk song is reimagined with a blues and jazz feel in preparation for the Steampunk Festival in Dimboola. Recorded live in Daylesford on March 30, 2025.

Ghost Driver
A song written from a story of a racing car driver in the 1920's being decapitated in a freak driving accident thus creating the Ghost Driver. He doesn't care about his head; he doesn't care if the traffic lights are red.
Sixth Sense
A song written on another paranormal adventure. Video shot in the 3km of underground cellars at Seppelt winery in Great Western. Said to be haunted by a few ghosts.
Guardian
Originally written for the Maryvale Murder story, but it slowly morphed into a protection song. We are never truly alone and sometimes you just got to acknowledge your guardian.
Ghost Owned - Full Gig
On August 5, 2023, Ghost Owned played in the haunted Kangaroo Hotel in Maldon as part of the Goldfields Gothic Festival. This was the first time playing to a live audience.
A zombie love song (Carla)
Most people driving on the Princess Highway east of Darnum have no knowledge of the area known as Dead Man's Gully.
Tourettes of the Soul
Shot in an abandoned mental asylum in both daylight and darkness, this track turned out to be a crowd favourite for the many ghosts watching. Tourettes of the Soul is all about the spiral of change and a certain denial of ones trajectory. Complete with straight jacket and a visit to the morgue fridge, nothing changes until you do
Best Life
A paranormal adventure is never complete without writing a song inspired by everything around us. This song just burst through. It really is the best life. Recorded in SA and filmed at Portland Lighthouse in a rough and ready mix with Keith wrapping some best life words and Paul playing some crappy lead. The worst lip-syncing but we love it. Enjoy.
Ghost Train
A song we wrote with a few ghosts in 2019 about a ghost train. We recorded this in regional Victoria in a creepy motel room in the middle of BF nowhere. All the footage is of us on a train, driving a train, collecting tickets....then a little bit of ectoplasm and a lotta fun in an old homestead. Get on the train. Thanks Puffing Billy and Walhalla railway for your good spirits.
Gone
This song is about relationships and people that have passed and are gone but never forgotten. Inspired in a cemetery with headstones, names and a spirit box. This song is supported by Jeff Woodward on lead guitar. Thanks Jeff! Really gave it some heavenly vibes at the end. The clip was shot in Kapunda and Robe cemetery in South Australia. Enjoy Gone.
About Us — Ghost Owned
Ghost Owned is the song writing duo of Paul Matthews and Keith Greenwell with Jeff Woodward as the muisical mastermind added in 2023. As part-time paranormal investigators, they travel to haunted locations and try to write songs with ghosts. Usually something happens. Whether it's the ghosts or inspiration, who knows. A mix of folk, indie, alternative and rock fused with lyrics that are sometimes deep, sometimes fun and sometimes just crap. And for the investigations, Kate -Ida Lee joins the Ghost Owned team as a medium. She can also hear the lyrics for us!
